Ausstellung - Renate und Michael Schildmann
A central theme of their painting is the vast North German landscape with its high skies, shifting cloud formations, and varying lighting conditions. While traveling through Norway, the artists were captivated by the fantastic cloud formations and diverse lighting conditions there. Watercolors offer special possibilities for their interpretation of light and atmosphere through flowing colors, soft transitions, transparency and lightness, luminosity, and brilliance. Since 2002, they have been creating seamless panoramic images to depict the vastness of a landscape. During their pilgrimage hikes through Norway, they created numerous panorama series. About four years ago, the idea for a book and an exhibition about these St. Olav’s Ways to Trondheim was conceived. (From Oslo, from Sundsvall, Sweden, and from Karlstad, Sweden). Since then, both the watercolors and the photographs have been shown in exhibitions in Norway.
