On October 3, the Citizens’ Festival at Ledenhof combines community engagement and live music—LOI is the headliner, and admission is free.
On German Unity Day, there are two great reasons to head downtown: On Saturday, October 3, the new community festival at the Ledenhof will showcase throughout the day just how much community spirit there is in Osnabrück. In the evening, the stage belongs to live music. The headliner of the evening is LOI, and the Antenne Niedersachsen Band will also take the stage. Admission is free.
With emotional pop, a distinctive voice, and catchy songs, LOI has won over an international audience. Her music has amassed several hundred million streams worldwide. The song “Gold” alone has been streamed more than 137 million times; “Am I Enough” is also one of her best-known tracks. At the community festival, the Mannheim-based singer-songwriter will perform live at the Ledenhof. The Antenne Niedersachsen Band will also help set the party mood. Six experienced musicians will play current chart hits, pop and rock classics, and well-known favorites. The evening program thus ranges from the latest pop hits to songs that many recognize from the radio, clubs, and concerts.
A festival for everyone who makes Osnabrück tick The true heart of the Bürgerfest beats even during the day: Around 65 booths run by clubs, initiatives, and institutions showcase what people in Osnabrück are up to. Hands-on activities, offerings for children and families, discussions, demonstrations, and food and drinks turn the Ledenhof and the Neuer Graben into a lively gathering place for the entire city. It’s not just about watching. Visitors can learn about new initiatives, talk to volunteers, and discover ways to get involved themselves.
Mayor Katharina Pötter will open the stage program: “What volunteers in clubs and initiatives do for Osnabrück every day is far more than just a nice bonus. Their commitment sustains our city. At the Citizens’ Festival, we’re bringing it out of the background and into the spotlight—to the Ledenhof, into conversation, and onto the stage. And because community thrives not only on getting things done but also on shared experiences, we’ll continue celebrating this day together in the evening.”

The Citizens’ Festival is organized by the City of Osnabrück in collaboration with its Volunteer Agency and Marketing Osnabrück GmbH. The complete program, featuring all participating clubs and initiatives, hands-on activities, and stage times, will be published well in advance of the festival.
