A Candlelit Tour of the Mine

Just the ride on the “Rabenstein-Express” mine train through a sea of candlelight is a one-of-a-kind experience. After arriving at the underground station, the tour continues on foot through the old mine to the former coal mining areas. Visitors learn interesting details about
coal mining, and during the tour, you can also try out an original rail bike and walk through a section of the tunnel using only the light of your own candle.

As a special highlight of these special tours, the tour concludes underground in the festively lit foreman’s bay. Here, guests are treated to hot mulled wine or punch and a slice of homemade Harz winter cake. In addition, the mine guide will entertain you with the story of what, according to legend, gave the Rabensteiner Stollen its name nearly 300 years ago.
