43rd Neuchâtel Art Week Theme: Textiles and Cloth

Following the successful and exceptionally well-attended Art Week 2025, the event will take place again this year at the Rauchkatengelände near Neuenburg Castle.

Five artists, selected by a jury from among many applicants, will come together during the week of August 24 – 30 August 2026 explore the regional theme Textiles and Cloth and create unique works of art. During this time, visitors can witness the creative process firsthand in the open-air studios at Neuenburg Castle on the Rauchkatengelände and engage in conversation with the artists. In addition, school classes will be introduced to art and culture daily under the guidance of art educators and will have the opportunity to experiment artistically with the materials under supervision.

On Sunday, August 30, the grand closing presentation will take place starting at 1 p.m., featuring an attractive and varied supporting program and demonstrations of textile and weaving crafts. The Neuenburg Heritage Society is organizing the legendary Baking Day at the Rauchkate near Neuenburg Castle (Schlossgang 1).

Following a musical welcome, the works created in Neuenburg will be presented at 1 p.m. This will be followed by musical performances, guided tours, and discussions with the artists.

The culinary offerings are diverse, regional, and creative.
