3. Drachenbootrennen in Marcardsmoor
Marcardsmoor is gearing up for a summer highlight: On August 22, 2026, the Ems-Jade Canal will once again be transformed into a colorful racecourse when the 3rd Dragon Boat Race gets underway. Following the great successes in 2019 and 2024, the village of Marcardsmoor is looking forward to another day full of team spirit, athletic excitement, and joyful encounters.
The event is organized by the village community, with support from local clubs and the volunteer fire department. Together, they ensure that race day is not only a sporting event but also a social and family-friendly occasion. For the youngest visitors, there’s a colorful program of games and fun, making a trip to Marcardsmoor worthwhile for the whole family.
Whether you’re part of a club, a company, a regulars’ group, or a spontaneously formed team—team spirit is what counts most at the dragon boat race. No prior experience is necessary, as the focus is on having fun together on the water. The event begins at 10 a.m., and large crowds of spectators are expected along the course as early as the morning.
