The fifth stage on the alternative route is just under 50 kilometers long and leads from Nienburg to Verden. A ride through the North German Plain.

This section of the Weser Cycle Path begins in the asparagus town of Nienburg and runs to Verden, crossing the Weser many times. You cycle through beautiful natural landscapes with fertile fields, lush meadows and views of the Weser as far as Drakenburg. In Drakenburg, you cross your first bridge and follow the lock canal to Sebbenhausen. Further north in Schweringen, you change sides of the Weser again and cycle along a paved path to Hoya. You are now at the geographical center of Lower Saxony, which is marked by a stone. You can pick up a certificate of your visit at the tourist information office in Hoya. The rest of the cycle route runs through the expanse of the North German Plain closer to the Weser again, passing the municipality of Dörverden and the Wolfcenter. Guests can familiarize themselves with the animals at the unique Wolfcenter. There are also two listed farmhouses to admire in the municipality. The cycle route continues past Ried to your destination, the equestrian town of Verden. Here you have the opportunity to discover historical sights as well as Verden Cathedral and the canons' house.
