The forest of lights in front of the castle, which shines in a special light after dark, and the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds make the visit a special experience. As always, admission is free.
Also indispensable and loved by younger visitors is the fairytale hour with Ingrid Jesussek. For the little ones, Santa Claus will also drop by again and hand out presents to all the little guests at the Advent meeting. The grown-ups can look forward to the "Rock n'Roll and Christmas Concert".
The city of Salzgitter supports the concept of the "Quiet Hour", which will be held at the Adventstreff on Sunday from 11 am to 12 noon.
Crafts in the sheepfold
On both days this year, the sheepfold on the grounds of the Salder Castle Municipal Museum will once again be home to artisans offering a wide range of gifts, from fragrant soaps and artistically designed paper art to glass tree decorations and homemade liqueur. Lovingly crafted and stylish gifts can be found here in the run-up to Christmas. The market is open from 1 to 8 pm on Saturday and from 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday
Culinary delights for every taste
Many of the stalls will be offering culinary delights. Specialty sausages from the Harz Mountains, crépes, hearty dishes such as potato soup, bratwurst, currywurst, pizza and much more. Of course, there will also be mulled wine, hot Aperol and hot gin, to name just a few warming drinks, as well as delicious non-alcoholic beverages.
Associations present themselves
The Adventstreff also offers associations based in Salder the opportunity to present themselves with a stand and so visitors can support these associations again this year by buying a bratwurst, a hearty potato soup or a hot drink.
