Directions

The starting point of the NORDPFAD is a historic gem, the in Elm. You may also park on the mill grounds.

After a roughly 700-meter approach path, the loop hike begins at **Elmer Hinterholz**. We first hike along a wide, partly paved and gravel path through this impressive state forest. After about 2.5 km, we turn left onto a natural trail that leads us through the open surrounding meadows and farmland.

We pass the isolated farms of **Buschdeel**, hike along a dirt road right through the farmland until we come to a paved road that leads us to the next **settlement, Vorhorn** . There, we leave the road at the first property on the left and turn right onto a dirt road. The path leads us between fields and meadows along the northern edge of the Elmer Hohenmoor. We enjoy the natural silence that emanates from this setting and follow the trail markers to .

As we walk alongside the canal, we’re treated to magnificent views of the vast and tranquil Elmer Hohenmoor. A little later, we reach the . The area, designed by the Mulsum Heritage Association and featuring a peat-cutting site behind the hut, is the perfect spot for a break before we continue our hike toward Tinster Holz. Shortly before reaching the forest, we turn right. From the small hill, where the Tinster Holz cemetery is also located, we have a magnificent view of the Hohenmoor, the Oste-Schwinge Canal, and the Elmer Hinterholz forest area.

We now hike along the edge of the forest until we reach a few scattered houses in the **Mulsumer Moor**. Turning right, we reach the canal again a short time later, which we cross via the small **Oste-Schwinge Bridge** . In contrast to the Hohenmoor, where the canal cuts deep into the moor, here it resembles an idyllic meadow stream.

Beyond the Oste-Schwinge Bridge, the trail leads back into the **Elmer Hinterholz**. At a T-junction, we keep to the left and turn right again after about 300 m. Continuing straight ahead on a slight incline, we hike through the increasingly dense forest. At the end of the forest, we reach Elm again. We walk to the next fork in the trail and follow the trail markers and signs back to .
