On December 5 at 4 pm, Mayor Torsten Schweiger and Rose Queen Geraldine I & Rose Princess Meike I will open the Christmas market with the traditional stollen cutting ceremony. Festive Christmas brass music will frame the program.
A fairytale forest with a fairytale tent will be set up for the first time. The varied offer includes face painting and handicrafts for children, Christmas family photos and reading sessions, in which Nele Müller, Fritz-Dieter Kupfernagel and Theater Eisleben provide a pre-Christmas atmosphere.
Santa Claus visits the market every Saturday and Sunday at 3 pm.
The popular ice skating rink also awaits all skaters again.
Live music of various genres and, of course, the enthusiastically prepared performances by children from the day-care centers are an indispensable part of the Sangerhausen Christmas market.
The culinary offerings include hot drinks such as mulled wine, eggnog, cocktails and co, hearty dishes from mushrooms and fish to soups and grilled food and of course sweets such as waffles, crêpes and stollen.
On December 5 and 20, the après-ski party heats up with hot rhythms.
For Advent in the Rosenhöfe, many of the courtyards in Sangerhausen's historic town center invite you to stroll and linger on December 5 from 5 - 10 pm.
The stores in the city center will also be open on 6, 13 and 22 December from 9 am to 6 pm, on 7 December from 1 pm to 6 pm and on 24 December from 9 am to 1 pm for a pre-Christmas shopping spree.
The Jacobi Church opens its doors on three weekends from December 5:
Friday and Saturday 4pm - 8pm. On December 7 at 5 p.m., Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio will be performed here and on December 14 at 4 p.m. it will be "Advent by Candlelight" with choirs from the region.
