It’s the moment just before: when everything is ready, when you know it’s about to start. A simple question that feels like a starting signal. That’s exactly how Osan Yaran opens his new show. A glance at the audience, a brief grin, and then there’s no turning back. With his fourth solo show, “Shall We Begin?”, Osan Yaran reveals the most personal—and at the same time, the sharpest—side of his humor. It’s about getting older, about moments you’d rather forget—like your first time or prostate exams. Or the absurd situation where you’re suddenly mistaken for a doctor on the train and realize: adulthood is sometimes just well-played improvisation. Juggling fatherhood, marriage, the stage, and the daily madness, Osan observes the world with a gaze that’s both sharp and self-deprecating. Memories of family, early insecurities, and life-shaping encounters collide with contemporary issues like artificial intelligence, social media, and the overwhelming demands faced by a man trying to juggle it all. With full physical commitment, precise timing, and his unmistakable directness, Osan Yaran weaves personal stories together with the big questions of everyday life. “Shall we begin?” is not a quiet opening, but the moment when anticipation turns into energy and it becomes clear: Here we go!
