A feature film (USA 1961, German dubbing) starring Audrey Hepburn. Holly Golightly, a charming New York party girl with a weakness for diamonds, eagerly flirts with wealthy older men. Paul Varjak, a bankrupt writer from the neighborhood with whom she falls in love against her will, is, by contrast, as poor as a church mouse. So, after a series of turbulent adventures, Holly must make a difficult decision: Should she follow her heart or her love of sparkling jewels? No other film showcases Audrey Hepburn’s dreamy charm and graceful beauty better than *Breakfast at Tiffany’s*, a timelessly elegant comedy that ranks among director Blake Edwards’s first major successes. Hepburn’s portrayal of the dazzling and impetuous child-woman Holly Golightly—behind whose façade of naivety and naivety lies great self-assurance and independence—made her an unforgettable star of American cinema. With captivating lightheartedness, the comedy depicts the decadent life of New York’s high society, in which 18-year-old Holly moves gracefully to the Oscar-winning music of Henry Mancini. The literary source for this cult film, which became a global success, was the classic novel of the same name by American author Truman Capote, who himself moved in the most exclusive circles of Manhattan.
