Zeichnungen und Skizzen von Karl Pethzoll (1912-1969)
Throughout his life Karl Pethzoll commuted between his profession as a pharmacist in Selsingen and his actual passion, art. In addition to wood carving, these were mainly drawing and painting. On the occasion of his 50th year of death, a selection of his numerous drawings and sketches will be shown in the city gallery Zeven. Even more than the oil paintings, his pencil drawings, sketches of charcoal, chalk and red oil or watercolor bear witness to a tremendous liveliness. It is precisely these that are "casually thrown" and often reduced to just a few strokes, convincing with their movement and unerring gestures.
