Vatula Sonntag: "Wald und Liebe"
People and nature are the themes that appear again and again in Vatula Sunday's works: organic, abstract forms that appeal directly to the heart and senses and invite the visitor to touch and feel themselves. Vatula Sunday's sculptures and drawings show a very personal and intimate art, sculptures that tell stories of love and passion, joy and pain carved in wood. "They act as part of human drama on the stage of nature," says Vatula Sonntag himself.
Vatula Sonntag lived and worked on La Gomera for 25 years. His workshop was destroyed in a fire in 2012. He has been living in Gühlitz in Wendland since 2014, has restored an old half-timbered house and is designing his new living space and workplace with his hands and his imagination.
Opening times: Tuesday to Sunday + public holidays 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
