"Klezmer & Tango" - concert with clarinets and concert accordion in the St. Marien Church in Winsen in Luhe
After a wonderful premiere last year, the award-winning duo "Sing Your Soul" with Meike Salzmann and Ulrich Lehna with their unique combination of different clarinets with the concert accordion are once again guests with a special summer concert in Winsen an der Luhe. On August 8th at 7:30 p.m. the passionate program "Klezmer meets Tango" will be heard in the St. Marien Church. Admission is free, at the exit a collection for musicians and church is asked to cover the costs.
The program includes klezmer and Jewish music that is inspired by legends and myths - in the style of klezmer legend Giora Feidman with the "singing clarinet with soulful intensity, touching the soul, melancholic and spirited."
Finnish tangos can also be heard, alternating energetic music with relaxing calm or exhilarated serenity. Sometimes it harbors a level-headed melancholy that tells of the vastness and freedom of the landscapes. At midsummer night, numerous tango festivals and markets take place in Finland, of which the concert tells.
Other highlights: nights in Buenos Aires with milonga and tango music that gets under your skin. In the tango sensuality, elegant tenderness and longings are set to music.
Ulrich Lehna and Meike Salzmann have shaped the unusually distinctive combination of various clarinets and the concert accordion in the concert world with numerous domestic and foreign tours in a formative and continuous manner in recent years and have made a name for themselves with their diverse and interesting concert programs.
Ulrich Lehna, like no other clarinetist in Europe, presents numerous different clarinets with their variety of sounds. Especially the bass clarinet and the still relatively unknown alto clarinet sound in an unimagined timbre. The accordion known as the “Schifferklavier” and “Quetsche” has an unjustly dubious reputation. "Under the highly musical fingers of exceptional accordionist Meike Salzmann, the concert accordion is transformed dynamically, emotionally and sonically unique."
After concert tours of several weeks in 2019, in which the duo played concerts in 9 federal states and in renowned chamber concert series, such as the "Saalfeld Evening Motets", the "Villinger Sommernachtsmusiken", "Palaiskonzerte Rastede", and much more, in beautiful baroque churches, castles and even in one was a guest at the former synagogue, the duo is looking forward to special summer concerts in 2020 in the most beautiful churches throughout Germany.
