Advent festival at Salder Castle
The illuminated castle, which shines brightly after nightfall, the Christmas forest, the Rock’n’Roll Christmas concert on the Saturday and the Christmas trombones on the Sunday make any visit a very special occasion. In the castle courtyard and exhibition rooms, over thirty artisans offer a wide range of gifts from silver jewellery and decorative wooden figures to elaborate candle holders and crystal tree decorations. Visitors, old and young alike, will be transported back to a bygone era in the castle vault by stories with the “Laterna Magica”. Sweet treats from Santa Claus and a ride on the nostalgic carousel will also ensure an exciting day for the youngest of visitors.
And this weekend the eyes of children and adults alike will light up when they see the haul of toys on show at the toy fair. All types of historical toys will be featured, including dolls, railways, pewter and lead figures, board games and children’s books. Collectors from Lower Saxony and the neighbouring federal states have already registered. Linger and marvel at the various model railways from the 1930s to the 2000s.
