30 Jahre Grenzöffnung – Kleines Bürgerfest

Around the St. Paul's church in Bergen an der Dumme, the 30th anniversary of the opening of the border will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 2 to about 8 pm.

After the welcome by Salzwedel Mayor Sabine Blümel and the mayor of Bergen, Heidi Schulz in the church, there will be a conversation with eyewitnesses under the leadership of Frank Briddigkeit. From 3 pm, choirs will sing from both sides of the former border and report on their cooperation after November 1989. At 4 pm a film about the opening of the border can be seen. In the former Sparkasse, the Museum Wustrow and the Swinmark-Grenzlandmuseum Göhr show a small exhibition (diorama and photos), which is open to visitors throughout the event. At 17 o'clock Probst Wichert-von Holten arranges a service. Another contemporary conversation, led by Henrik Thunecke, will be on the program at 6 pm. At 7:55 pm, Pastor Andreas Wehen will speak closing words and there will be a short trombone play.

Also the physical well-being is not too short: There are among other things coffee, cake and Soljanka of the rural women, waffles of the Pfadfinder, in addition Bratwurst, Nudelpfanne and beverages. Outside you can experience the "Trabifreunde Salzwedel".
