Water is an imposing presence in Niedersachsen: along with East Frisia and the North Sea coast with the UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site of the Niedersachsen Wadden Sea, you’ll also find great rivers such as the Elbe and the Weser. Large inland lakes such as Lake Steinhude, Lake Dümmer, and Lake Zwischenahn offer varied water-based experiences away from the seaside.
