Lower Saxony State Museum Hannover
The Lower Saxony State Museum Hannover is the largest public museum in Lower Saxony.
In 2014 the permanent exhibitions have been redesigned:
The ground floor covers the nature with a combination of an aquarium ("vivarium") and natural science, including more than 2000 native and exotic fish, amphibians and reptiles. Visitors are also introduced to the variety of habitats in Lower Saxony, such as the Harz mountains, heathland, and the North Sea.
Moreover, archeology and ethnology are presented and the gallery shows pictures and sculptures from the Middle Ages to the Impressionists.
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the museum regularly hosts special exhibitions. In addition, you can find a comprehensive range of events for all ages and an exciting educational program. A café and a well-stocked museum shop complete the offer.
