Heimat- und Bäckereimuseum
Local History and Bakery Museum
In some mills, you can enjoy home-made baked specialities in a historical atmosphere or turn back time in their local history and bakery museum. Every Whit Monday, which is Mühlentag (mill day) in Germany, nearly all mill owners open their doors to the public.
The region’s mills also form part of the Niedersächsische Mühlenstraße (Lower Saxony’s Mill Route) and can be visited by cyclists following the Mühlenroute. For full information, opening times, locations and contact addresses for our mills, simply order the brochure "Die Mühlenroute per Rad entdecken" (available in German only) at www.TouROW.de.
Descriptions of the mills are available at www.TouROW.de and at www.muehlenroute.de.
