When the first warming rays of sun touch the countryside and the
flowering of spring starts, many gardens and parks in Lower Saxony
open up their gates. The showpiece of Lower Saxony’s gardens “grows and flourishes” at the capital of the federal state, Hannover – the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen are Germany’s largest Baroque gardens. The monastery premises and castle parks as well as the smaller ornamental and flower gardens are also worth a visit due to their flower and seasonal events.
If you are travelling with families or younger visitors, plan a trip to the adventure parks and zoos of Niedersachsen. As an example, you will find wild animals and their cute babies at the Hannover Adventure Zoo, the zoo in Osnabrück, the Serengeti Park or the Weltvogelpark (bird park) in Walsrode.
