Set against the historic backdrop of the town hall, Marienkirche and the Cathedral, Osnabrück's Christmas market has been among Northern Germany's most beautiful for years. For nearly 100 years, the Telsemeyer family's old carousel has been lighting up the eyes of children, parents and grandparents alike. Santa Claus waits to hear what children want for Christmas every day at 16:00. A visit to the Osnabrück Christmas market would not be complete without a hot mug of mulled wine, poffertjes (Dutch batter treats), almonds or Osnabrück's special sausage, the "Käsegriller".
On all four Sundays of Advent, visitors can stroll through Osnabrück's illuminated city centre until 21:00. On Sunday 28 December, retailers will open their doors from 13:00 to 18:00.
