Welcome to the world of fairy tales - the 600 kilometres of the German fairy tale route runs from Hanau to Bremen, stopping, of course, in many other towns in the popular holiday region of Niedersachsen along the way. Follow the trail of the Brothers Grimm to Göttingen where the Brothers along with like-minded citizens protested against the abolition of the Hanover constitution, to Hameln, where visitors are greeted personally by the Pied Piper; to Nienburg, where the legendary Burgmannshöfe can be visited and to Verden, where the Magic Park takes you on a tour of nostalgic fairy tales.
The fairy tale route was established in 1975 in Steinau, the home town of the Brothers Grimm. Germany's oldest holiday route includes more than 70 towns and rural districts. The wonderful German fairy tale route links the key places from the life of the Brothers Grimm and the places and landscapes in which their stories are set.
