World Heritage and loveable medieval town

Amidst impressive scenery like mountain pastures, fir forests, river dams and bathing lakes the city of Goslar, UNESCO World Heritage Center, is located. Defiant towers and many churches, colourful framework houses as well as paved avenues shape the medieval townscape.

The former Rammelsberg mine as one of the most ingenious industrial museum in Europe and the picturesque old town were both together acknowledged as UNESCO World Heritage in 1992. Not far from the centre you can find the mighty imperial palace with its fantastic art treasures. At this place German and European history was channeled for about 1000 years by the Staufer- and Salian emperors.

A range of coffeehouses and restaurants are inviting to stay and the vast array of shops whet the appetite for an exceeding shopping tour. The variety of events may be another reason of visiting Goslar. Here you can experience the celebration of the Walpurgis night, the World Heritage Day or the artisan craftwork market – Goslar caters for all tastes. Last but not least the moody Christmas fair with its unique Christmas forest is the loveliest in Northern Germany.
