Walsrode Bird Park

Experience the whole breadth of the bird world from every continent and climatic zone in a magnificent park. The over 4,500 birds are kept in a way appropriate to the species in large aviaries, visitor-accessible large indoor aviaries and generous open-air enclosures making the bird park a unique facility. The 240,000 square metres of parkland and gardens are worth a visit to discover the secrets of the bird world at any time of year.

Experience tropical bird life right up close

In bad weather you can experience the unique bird life of Indonesia in the tropical forest hall. The former Expo project is, with its many free-flying birds, the only place in Europe where you can see the legendary birds of paradise. In the outdoor enclosures you can even join in at feeding time. The entire bird park is accessible to people with disabilities - there are no steps, all paths are paved and the enclosures can be viewed by wheelchair users. Wheelchairs can also be lent out free of charge on application.

April to October: daily from 9 am - 7 pm
November to March: daily from 10 am - 6 pm
