Snake Farm

Picture: Milking a snake This unusual zoo in Schladen has over 1,300 snakes. The snake paradise is considered the largest snake farm in Europe. As well as snakes, the park is also home to crocodiles, piranha, lizards, tortoises, scorpions, spiders and other not entirely harmless animals. There are various displays, such as how to milk a snake! The venom is used as an anti-serum for snake bites. The Africa house houses Cuban crocodiles, puff adders, green mamba and black mamba.

The spider tower houses all sorts of poisonous spiders and equally dangerous scorpions. Television has made Jürgen Hergert and his snake farm well-known. The snake expert has appeared in various shows, magazine programmes and reports, talking about his work and the snake farm.
