Lüneburger Heide game park is right in the Lüneburger Heide conservation area and, in extensive grounds, houses more than 1000 animals and has generous gardens. The hilly grounds have a range of trees and peaceful ponds. A number of animal enclosures and aviaries housing native animals are located here. The game park is intensively involved in international conservation programmes, including the European breeding programme for otters, the red-crowned crane, the European sea eagle, the snow leopard, the musk ox, mink and bison.
The park primarily displays animals from the moderate climatic zone. Lessons on nature and the environment are given regularly in the biology centre. Children can enjoy the huge play area and the petting zoo. Birthdays can also be celebrated here.
