Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln Nature Park

Picture: View of Weserbergland

The varied landscape in the area where the North German lowlands plain meets the central mountains provides ideal conditions for the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park. A thickly woven mosaic of countryside, towns and villages, castles and stately homes, legends and history attracts visitors to explore and to linger.

As well as charming countryside, the area is not lacking in cultural interest. The architecture of the Weser renaissance in particular, such as the well preserved mediaeval marketplace in the former university town of Rinteln, or Hameln's old town, Schloss Hämelschenburg and Schloss Schwöbber, as well as many early mediaeval churches, monasteries, seminaries and city walls is well worth a visit. The nature park also contains the famous spa towns of Bad Pyrmont, Bad Eilsen, Bad Nenndorf and Bad Münder, which offer various health treatments.
