Schloss Marienburg
Summer Residence of the Guelphs
Most impressively, Marienburg Castle raises its distinctive silhouette over the South Western slope of the Marienberg, some 15 km north-westerly of Hildesheim and approx. 20 km south of Hanover. The castle with its many turrets dominates the rolling hills of the valley of the River Leine. The former summer residence of the Guelphs - once a birthday present from the Hanoverian King George V to his wife, Queen Mary - is considered one of the most important neo-Gothic historical buildings in Germany.
A variety of different facades, turrets and the multitude of different roof shapes easily cast a spell on the visitor making them part of fairy tale life in a castle. Today, you can have a comprehensive glimpse into the grand halls and historical rooms of the castle during a one-hour guided tour. The tour allows viewing the state and private rooms of the royal family. The elaborate interior design with historical furniture, paintings, rare and singular objects of arts impressively reawakens life at court during the end of the 19th century.
Castle Restaurant
During the season, the Schloss Restaurant is open daily, inviting guests to spend a most pleasurable time in the rebuilt former stables, the barn used for the castles' carriages and the courtyard. The Castle Restaurant has a full à la carte Menu served in the ambience of a French Bistro of the 19th century. When travelling in group, do inquire about the specials.

Concerts
During the season, there are numerous concerts of differing musical styles held at the Marienburg Castle. For the Jazz aficionado, there is a Jazz Brunch every first Sunday of the month. For the connoisseur of classical music, a concert by internationally known musicians is held every month in the Knight's Hall.
The Marienburg Castle Classic Open Air Concerts, an extraordinary event, is held at the beginning of September each year. The festively illuminated court yard holds up to 900 guests enjoying very special musical highlights. High-altitude fireworks form a romantic conclusion to a very special concert night.
Weddings, Parties and Events
Bridal couples can arrange for their wedding ceremony to be held in the ambience of a fairy tale castle.
The Castle Chapel is available for weddings; it has been built in the style of the Saint Chapelle in Paris, France.
For wedding ceremonies, parties and other events, exclusive locations within the castle or in the Castle Restaurant are available.
Marienburg Castle offers hosts complete service, leaving nothing to be desired.
