German Horse Museum in Verden

Picture: Horse Museum Verden - Foyer You get it from the horse's mouth in the horse museum, appropriately located in Verden. Situated in the former cavalry barracks at the Holzmarkt, you can trace the origins of the horse and of riding, and the role of the horse through the ages and in different cultures.

You can gallop in front of a huge screen around the Verden race track, drive a coach and horses or experience at first hand how a horse sees and perceives the world on the riding simulator. You can see the world through a horse's eyes using special mirror glasses. A further highlight is the library, with more than 15,000 books describing the history of the horse.
